On Thursday, April 29, 2021, we submitted the attached document in response to USDA's request for Public Comment on the Executive Order on Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad
These comments urge USDA to work to (i) reduce the number of animals produced by factory farms, including through significantly cutting back - with the ultimate aim of eliminating - government subsidization of the industry as a whole, and (ii) increase the promotion and support of more sustainable food production alternatives, in order to effectively address agriculture's outsized contribution to the climate crisis.
